MARBLEOUS
2023 Short Film
While going about his duties, a museum cleaner gets a surprise thank you!
THE PROCESS
For this film, I took inspiration from an old idea in the Sumer of 2022, but it wasn't until I traveled to Europe with a friend at the start of 2023 that I wanted to take on the task of bringing the simple story to life. From Berlin museums, to Versailles and the Louvre, I was soaking in all of the details so that when I returned I could spend the next two months creating this short film. Through a meticulous process of animating every shot in Adobe Photoshop and compositing in After Effects, Marbleous was born.
One of the most enriching parts of working on this film was collaborating with a Berkelee College of Music student Tai Schiavo to develop the film's score. After a few spotting sessions to map out the emotional beats, he put together an ensemble of musicians and brought my Bossa nova dreams to life!
Marbleous premiered at the MassArt Junior Animation Film Fest as the final work in the show to great response and I'm proud to call it my first animated short film.
